Research on the Experience and Needs of Parkinson’s Patients

Abstract

|
In this study, 10 patients with Parkinson’s disease were interviewed using grounded theory and the necessary factors of Parkinson’s patients were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the causal condition were ‘magnetic personality’, The contextual conditions were ‘distrust of the doctor’, ‘side effect of medication’, and ‘economic burden’. The phenomena were ‘negative psychology’, ‘physical discomfort’, and ‘social relation’. The intervening conditions were ‘regularization of medication’, ‘making everyday of exercise’, ‘alternative medicine’, ‘support of the caregiver’, ‘support of the meeting’. The reactions were ‘repetitive routine’. The result was ‘accept’, and ‘hope’. In addition, research participants showed the need for factors such as body, psychology, caregiver, and meeting. Based on the results of this study, it is important to understand the patients with Parkinson’s disease and to suggest various practical methods to improve their quality of life.
